Professional English to Russian Translation and Localization

Hello and welcome to Maxim Manzhosin's website. Having over a decade of experience, I specialize in translating technical papers, websites, and software from English into Russian.
I have a deep knowledge in the IT industry coupled with a linguistic background and expert skills in my working languages.

Stop by the “Services” tab for a detailed listing of my services and working fields, and get in touch with me, if you think my skills are what you're looking for.

About Myself

I have always had a love for technology and a passion for languages. I started out working as a proofreader and a systems administrator, then in 2003 I received my degree in linguistics and switched to full-time translation. Since then, I have translated several million words for various translation agencies and direct clients, large corporations and small businesses alike. To give you an idea of the kind of documents I deal with, here are some of my translation projects:

  • ORBCOMM satellite terminal datasheet, 1,200 words;
  • FileMaker Pro software UI and help files, 7,000 words;
  • IBM System X servers datasheet, 3,800 words;
  • VMware e-learning course, 7,000 words;
  • Microsoft Store website localization, 3,500 words.

(Please refer to my CV for more details).

I've been a full member of UTR (Union of Translators of Russia) since 2007 and hold the Certified Pro badge from, the largest professional translation portal.

My Attitude towards Work

The quality of my work is guided by the professional regulations that I adhere to: the Professional Guidelines and the Code of Professional Conduct of the Union of Translators of Russia (available in Russian).

To ensure all terms are translated consistently I maintain an archive of past translations (called translation memory) and a terminology database for each client.
My business terms can be found here.
I strongly believe that ongoing professional development is a key to success, and I regularly take part in translation conferences and other industry events around the world. In 2010 and 2011, I was invited as a speaker for Translation Forum Russia – the largest annual industry event in Eastern Europe.
